About Trisha

Hi, I’m Trisha 👋

I’m a mom, wife, professional internet wanderer, chronic overthinker, and the person behind Pocket Change Mama.

And before we go any further, let me make one thing very clear:

I am not a financial guru.

I don’t have a six-figure investment portfolio. I’m not going to tell you that I paid off $87,000 of debt in six months by giving up Starbucks and waking up at 4 AM. And I’m definitely not going to explain how you, too, can become financially independent if you just buy my $297 course.

Absolutely not. 😂

I’m just a regular mom trying to make the math work.

So… Why Pocket Change Mama?

Because somewhere along the way, saving money on the internet became weirdly complicated.

Every app promises free money. Every side hustle supposedly makes someone $5,000 a month. Every budgeting article assumes you have twelve subscriptions to cancel and haven’t already stared at your bank account wondering where exactly they expect you to find another $300.

Meanwhile, I’m over here thinking:

Okay, but does this actually work?

That’s what Pocket Change Mama is about.

I try the apps. I dig through the deals. I look for realistic ways to save money and make a little extra. I investigate the things the internet swears are worth our time.

Then I tell you what happened.

Sometimes I find something genuinely useful.

Sometimes I make 43 cents.

Sometimes an app wants me to complete seventeen surveys, sacrifice my firstborn, and hand over my browsing history in exchange for a $5 gift card.

Those are the adventures we’re going on together.

I Have a Real Family and a Real Budget

I’m married, raising two kids, and running a household where money has to actually do something.

Groceries aren’t theoretical numbers in a spreadsheet. Bills still show up every month with the audacity of people who weren’t invited. Kids need things. Cars break. Random expenses materialize from another dimension.

And sometimes saving $20 really does matter.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I created this site.

There are plenty of places online teaching investing, wealth building, and big-picture personal finance. Those things absolutely have their place.

But sometimes you don’t need a lecture about your retirement portfolio.

Sometimes you need to know whether that grocery app is actually going to save you $12 this week.

That’s my territory.

What You’ll Find Here

You’ll find honest reviews of money-saving apps and websites, side hustles I’m actually willing to investigate, realistic saving ideas, deals worth knowing about, and whatever financial nonsense the internet is currently obsessing over.

That’s where The Doomscroll comes in.

Because if we’re already going to lose part of our lives scrolling the internet, we might as well occasionally find something useful down there.

I don’t promise every idea will work for every person. I don’t promise you’re going to get rich.

Actually, I’m pretty confident we’re not getting rich from most of this stuff.

But if something saves us $8, makes us $20, knocks a little off the grocery bill, or helps stretch the budget until payday?

I’ll take it.

Pocket change adds up.

One More Thing…

If you recognize my particular flavor of internet chaos, there’s a reason.

I’m also the person behind MomUnfiltered, my other corner of the internet where I spend significantly less time talking about grocery bills and significantly more time yelling about anime.

Apparently I contain multitudes.

Or I just have too many tabs open.

Probably that one.

Either way, Pocket Change Mama is where I’m documenting my attempt to squeeze a little more value out of the money we already have, find realistic ways to bring a little more in, and figure out which internet money hacks are actually worth our time.

No guru nonsense.

No pretending I’ve figured out the secret to wealth.

Just me, trying things, doing the math, and telling you exactly how it went.

Welcome to Pocket Change Mama. 🪙💙

Saving money, one penny at a time.
